Beijing, Jul. 7(Antaike)-China's nickel cathode output grew 14.8% in June from the previous month making a y-o-y drop of 5.6%, Antaike data showed on Tuesday.

Output in Jinchuan Group Co., Ltd. gained 16.4% in June from month earlier to 12,800 tons, mainly due to the full completion of maintenance. Production in Xinjiang Xinxin Mining Co., Ltd. contracted 10.9% in June on a monthly basis to 957 tons. That in Jilin Ji'en Nickel Industry Co., Ltd. reached 500 tons in June, mainly attributed to the official production of nickel cathode in May.

In 1H21, China totally produced 79.4kt of nickel cathode, down by 4.4% y-o-y. Antaike predicts that China's output of nickel cathode will reach 88kt in the second half of 2021.
