Antaike, Jul.16(Beijing)-BYD’s power battery project came to Changchun for the first time after the company opened its power battery business to the outside sales.
According to media reports, Changchun municipal government, China FAW Group and BYD signed an investment and cooperation agreement on the new energy power battery project on July 14, according to the official website of the Changchun municipal government.
As early as May this year, it was announced that the BYD battery project with an investment of nearly 10 billion yuan would be settled in Changchun International Automobile City.
It is learned that orders for BYD's power battery subsidiary, FinDream Battery, from FAW Hongqi, have been shipped. BYD’s investment of RMB10 billion in construction of power battery base, is perhaps for supporting FAW’s new energy vehicle models.
Notably, China's FAW Group has launched the Hongqi E-QM5, which is powered by BYD's bladed battery.
