ENFI, Lygend sign OBI nickel project expansion engineering design contract

Beijing, Jul. 28(Antaike)-Recently China ENFI Engineering Co., Ltd. (ENFI) and Lygend Resources & Technology Co., Ltd. (Lygend) signed an engineering design contract to expand Indonesian OBI nickel project.

OBI project jointly funded by Lygend and Indonesia Harita Corporation is a large nickel smelting project in the back of "The Belt and Road". So far the HPAL section for the project has been put into production in May, 2021 and the RKEF section is expected to be put into operation in Q1, 2022.

After the expansion of OBI nickel project being commissioned, OBI project will become a large comprehensive nickel industrial park with 6 HPAL production lines, 20 RKEF production lines, nickel cobalt refinery, stainless steel mill, supporting coal-fired power plant and wharf, and it will realize the annual treatment capacity of nearly 10 million tons of low-grade nickel ore and 12 million tons of high-grade nickel ore, and more than 350ktpy of nickel metal production.
